Hello, and thank you for visiting my website.
I am fortunate enough to live in Norwich, Norfolk, and use the wonderful environment around me as inspiration for my paintings. I enjoy the flexibility and vibrancy of oil paints, and this is my preferred painting medium.
Unlike a photograph, a painting offers me the opportunity to express my feelings and emotions when I have a subject in front of me. I enjoy plein air painting as it gives me the opportunity to explore new places. Even if I sit there for three hours and the painting only takes 30 minutes to complete, I have absorbed, processed and expressed my reaction to that particular place.
I have entered Paint Out competitions for a number of years, most recently winning prizes in Cambridge (2018) and Norfolk (2019).
My other interests include cycling, motorbikes, canoeing, beekeeping, mountaineering and four o’clock whiskey and crisps.
